                    [0] => Objective: To present the application of the American educational model, inspired by the New School, in the formation of the Library Science and Documentation Course in Brazil between 1929 and 1961, analyzing its impacts both on the technical training of librarians and on the adaptation of this model to the Brazilian reality.
Method: This is an exploratory study, based on the approach of the New Cultural History and conducted using qualitative methods. The analysis is based on historical documents and experience reports, focusing on the concepts of memory, representation, and identity. Additionally, the influence of philosophical, social, and psychological disciplines on library science education is highlighted. The sample includes case studies and literature reviews of relevant sources on the development of the course in Brazil.
Results: The research identifies that the American model significantly transformed librarian training in Brazil, promoting a multidisciplinary practice that was incorporated into the Library Science course. The findings highlight the importance of adapting this model to local specificities, creating a dialogue between international technical training and Brazilian realities. The evolutionary phases of library science education in the country reflect this effort to balance external influences with internal contexts.
Conclusions: The study contributes to a broader understanding of the internationalization of library science education in Brazil, highlighting the role of American education as a catalyst for changes in professional training in the field. This research also allows for reflection on the adaptation of foreign models to the Brazilian context and their implications for the evolution of higher education in the country.@en
                    [1] => Objetivo: Apresentar a aplicação do modelo norte-americano de ensino, inspirado pela Escola Nova, na formação do Curso de Biblioteconomia e Documentação no Brasil entre 1929 e 1961, analisando seus impactos tanto na formação técnica dos bibliotecários quanto na adaptação desse modelo à realidade brasileira.
Método: Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, fundamentada na abordagem da Nova História Cultural e conduzida por meio de métodos qualitativos. A análise baseia-se em documentos históricos e relatos de experiências, com foco nos conceitos de memória, representação e identidade. Além disso, destaca-se a influência das disciplinas filosófica, social e psicológica na formação biblioteconômica. A amostra inclui estudos de caso e revisões bibliográficas de fontes relevantes ao desenvolvimento do curso no Brasil.
Resultado: A pesquisa identifica que o modelo norte-americano transformou significativamente a formação de bibliotecários no Brasil, promovendo uma prática multidisciplinar que foi incorporada ao curso de Biblioteconomia. Os resultados apontam para a importância da adaptação desse modelo às especificidades locais, criando um diálogo entre a formação técnica internacional e as realidades brasileiras. As fases evolutivas do ensino de Biblioteconomia no país refletem esse esforço de equilíbrio entre influências externas e contextos internos.
Conclusões: O estudo contribui para uma compreensão mais ampla da internacionalização da educação biblioteconômica no Brasil, destacando o papel do ensino norte-americano como catalisador de mudanças na formação de profissionais do setor. Essa pesquisa permite, ainda, uma reflexão sobre a adaptação de modelos estrangeiros ao contexto brasileiro e suas implicações para a evolução do ensino superior no país.@pt
