[0] => This study analyzes the employment situation of librarians in Chile, from 1949 to 2022, as part of a project on the history of librarianship in Chile. It employs a mixed methodology that includes priority search in social networks, as well as in archives of the media and the union organization of these professionals, and interviews with librarians to collect data on their work history. With internet access of 94.3% in Chilean households, a systematized search was conducted in Google, obtaining 3,609 records representing the workplaces of 71% of the graduates in Librarianship. The classification of the employers found by state, private and university institutions made it possible to identify the available sources and trends in the labor market. The study also highlights the importance of public policies in the insertion of librarians in the labor market and their role in digital information management. Finally, a comprehensive bibliography on the labor market of librarians in Latin America and Chile is presented.@en
