                                            [0] => Considering the relevance ofthe scientific article in theprocess ofscientific communication, as well as the importance of CAPES in Brazilian post-graduation studies, the possible relationship between attributed evaluation to thepost-graduate courses by CAPES and the degree ofproduction ofarticles in scientific periodicals both printed and electronic done by the Brazilian researcher has been statistically analyzed in the following manner: the courses under the classification A produce more than the courses under B, which produce more than courses under C, and so on successively, being that at the time ofthe research (1997), the classifications wentfrom A to E. This study deals with the productivity of540 teachers in 60 courses, distributed throughout all the Brazilian regions in different areas ofknowledge. In general, the results do not confirm the existence ofa relationship, either in the printed or electronic periodicals. In other words, there is no significant difference between the groups. The group to group comparison, in the case of the printed articles, reveal only that the group classified under E produces less than A, B, C, and D.
                                            [1] => Considerando a releväncia do artigo cientifico no processo de comunicaeäo cientifica, bem como a representatividade da CAPES na pös-graduacäo brasileira, analisa-se estatisticamenteapossivel relacäo entre avaliacäo atribuida aos cwsos depös-graduacäo pela CAPES e o grau de producäo de artigos de periödicos cientificos impressos e eletrönicos do docente/pesquisador brasileiro, nesta perspectiva: os cursos com menqäo A os produzem mais do que os de mencäo B, estes mais do que os de menqäo C e assim sucessivamente, com a ressalva de quer å época dapesquisa (1997), os conceitos iam de A a E. Trata-se daprodutividade de 540 professores de 60 cursos, distribuidos nas cinco regiöes brasileiras e nas diferentes åreas do conhecimento. No cömputo geral, os resultados näo confirmam a existéncia de relagäo, tanto para os artigos impressos como para os eletrönicos, ou seja, näo hå diferenca significativa entre os grupos. A comparacäo grupo a grupo, no caso dos impressos, mostra que somente os cursos com nota Eproduzem menos do que os A, B, C e D.
