                                            [0] => In the National Information System of Medical Sciences of Cuba (SNICM, Spanish abbreviation), a methodological document that controls the evaluation of the scientific information activity (ACI, Spanish abbreviation) does not exist. On the other hand, the instruments used on this matter are characterized by inadequacies regarding the definition of methods, procedures and techniques. On account of this fact, a methodology that contributes to improve this process in medical libraries in Camagüey was produced. As a scientific contribution of a normative nature, the proposal is based on the budgets that govern the actions of the SNICM. Likewise, it is characterized by its pertinence, feasibility, system integrity, adequacy, applicability, and possibility of being spread. The results of the assessment process, according to the criteria of specialists, were positive. Thus, its practical application is recommended since it offers a tool that would contribute the provision of information services of excellence to the medical libraries in Camagüey.
                                            [1] => En el Sistema Nacional de Información de Ciencias Médicas de Cuba (SNICM), no existe un documento metodológico que regule la evaluación de la actividad científico informativa (ACI). Por otra parte, los instrumentos utilizados al respecto se caracterizan por insuficiencias en la definición de métodos, procedimientos y técnicas. Debido a ello se elaboró una metodología que contribuye a perfeccionar este proceso en las bibliotecas médicas de la provincia de Camagüey. Como aporte científico de carácter normativo, la propuesta se sustenta en los presupuestos que rigen el accionar del SNICM. A su vez, se caracteriza por su pertinencia, factibilidad, integralidad sistémica, suficiencia, aplicabilidad y posibilidad de generalización. Los resultados del proceso de valoración por criterio de especialistas fueron positivos por lo que se recomienda su aplicación en la práctica, ya que brinda a las bibliotecas médicas del territorio una herramienta que contribuiría a la prestación de servicios de información de excelencia.
