                                            [0] => In recent years, it has been created several institutions and academic programs of higher education with an intercultural approach in Latin America, which have enabled that thousands of indigenous students access to formal education. In this context, it is considered that the scientific activity developed by indigenous students acquire different characteristics and dynamics that should be analysed from an interdisciplinary approach, since  these individuals come from diverse socio-cultural contexts and keep skills, perceptions and behaviours distant from the western conception of scientific knowledge. Therefore, this reflection, based on the theoretical and methodological contributions of social studies of science and technology and socio-cultural approach of the concept of information literacy, seeks to provide some elements to think and reflect on these new information contexts. Also, this work analyses the role of information professionals, which, from an ethnographic approach, can identify those other protocols, perceptions and skills of indigenous students regarding the production of scientific knowledge, noticing how they are influenced by their previous academic paths and by their life experiences.
                                            [1] => Durante los últimos años, se han creado diversas instituciones y programas académicos de educación superior con enfoque intercultural en América Latina, que han permitido que miles de estudiantes indígenas accedan a la educación formal. En este contexto, se considera que la actividad científica desarrollada por los estudiantes indígenas adquiere características y dinámicas propias que deben ser analizadas desde un enfoque interdisciplinar, ya que estos individuos provienen de contextos socioculturales diversos y guardan habilidades, percepciones y comportamientos distantes a la concepción occidental sobre el conocimiento científico. Por lo tanto, esta reflexión, apoyada en los aportes teórico-metodológicos de los estudios sociales de la ciencia y la tecnología y en el enfoque socio-cultural del concepto de competencias informacionales, busca ofrecer algunos elementos para poder pensar y reflexionar sobre estos nuevos contextos informacionales. Del mismo modo, se analiza el papel de los profesionales de la información, los cuales, a partir de una aproximación etnográfica, pueden identificar esos otros protocolos, percepciones y habilidades de los estudiantes indígenas con respecto a la producción de conocimiento científico, observando cómo son pautadas por sus trayectorias formativas previas y por sus experiencias de vida.
