                    [0] => This study understands the bibliometric service as a support to the institution´s scientific policies and a support for decision-making in the context of scientific information management. It aims to contextualize the offering of the bibliometric service in university libraries in Latin America. It develops a qualitative and exploratory study based on the documental analysis of the web pages of 37 university libraries. It finds that 11 institutions offer the bibliometric service as a support to research, to the researcher and to support institutional strategic decisions. It affirms the strategic importance of the service offering as a research support service at university libraries.@en

Objetiva contextualizar a oferta do serviço de bibliometria em bibliotecas universitárias da América Latina. Desenvolve uma pesquisa qualitativa e exploratória a partir da análise documental das páginas web de 37 bibliotecas universitárias da América Latina. Constata que 11 instituições oferecem o serviço de bibliometria como apoio à pesquisa, ao pesquisador e para fundamentar decisões estratégicas institucionais.
