                                            [0] => The aim of this article is to understand the functioning of libraries and archives as discourse, as defined by Michel Foucault. The analyses goes through the theoretical characterization of the purposes of such institutions, distinguishing the materials and processes operated inside the libraries and the archives, in order to reach the concept of “institutions of memory” by Michel Pêcheux. Thus, the article concludes that discursives practices from libraries and archives through procedures for controlling and delimiting material culture records result from an effective social prodution monitored by current informational policies.
                                            [1] => O objetivo do presente artigo é compreender o funcionamento de bibliotecas e arquivos enquanto discursos, conforme a definição de Michel Foucault. A análise passa pela caracterização teórica das finalidades de tais instituições, distinguindo os materiais e os processos operados no interior das bibliotecas e dos arquivos, para alcançar o conceito de “instituições de memória” de Michel Pêcheux. Assim, o artigo conclui que as práticas discursivas provenientes de bibliotecas e arquivos por meio de procedimentos de controle e delimitação de registros da cultura material resultam de uma efetiva produção social monitorada por políticas informacionais vigentes.
