Cataloguing is one of the processes highlighted in libraries which has allowed to describe the set of works and resources that are evident in catalogs, indexes, directories, thesauri, among others. This research analyzes the impact in time, cost, quality and quantity of cataloged books used by artificial intelligence applications such as ChatGPT 3.5, ChatGPT 4o, Gemini and Copilot compared to cataloging done by an expert cataloguer. The books selected were three bestsellers and two works frontlist selected by the team of the Libraries of the Universdad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. The results allowed to infer that the average cataloging of applications using Large language model is 183 times faster, the salary cost of a cataloger is 64 times more expensive than AI and AI can catalog 187 times more books than a cataloger.@en
                    [1] => La inteligencia artificial presenta oportunidades y desafíos en los procesos de las bibliotecas. La catalogación es uno de los procesos destacados en las bibliotecas la cual ha permitido describir el conjunto de obras y recursos que se evidencian en los catálogos, índices, directorios, tesauros, entre otros. La presente investigación analiza el impacto en tiempo, costos, calidad y cantidad de libros catalogados utilizado los aplicativos de inteligencia artificial como ChatGPT 3.5, ChatGPT 4o, Gemini y Copilot frente a la catalogación realizada por una persona catalogadora experta. Los libros seleccionados fueron tres bestsellers y dos obras frontlist seleccionados por el equipo del Sistema de Bibliotecas de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Los resultados permitieron inferir que la catalogación promedio de los aplicativos que utilizando Large language model es 183 veces más rápida, el costo en salario de una persona catalogadora es 64 veces más costosa que las IA y pueden las IA catalogar 187 veces más libros que una persona catalogadora.@es
