                                            [0] => This article is the result of a master's thesis financed by Capes/Cnpq with an interest in investigating science and technology objects found in the environment of the Geological Survey of Brazil. Firstly, a brief introduction is presented regarding the structural development of the article. The theoretical conceptualization, creation of the Geological Survey of Brazil and the emergence and development of the Museum are then discussed. Finally, science and technology objects acquired by the Geological Survey throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries and which contributed to scientific research and technological innovations are described. It was found that the identified objects are legitimate examples to constitute a new collection in the Museum's collection as they demonstrate the history and memory of the development of scientific knowledge of Geosciences in the country, indicating political, social, economic and scientific situations that contextualize society.
                                            [1] => Este artigo é resultado de dissertação de mestrado com interesse na investigação sobre objetos de ciência e tecnologia  encontrados no ambiente do Serviço Geológico do Brasil. Primeiramente é apresentada breve introdução referente ao desenvolvimento estrutural do artigo. Em seguida, são abordadas conceituação teórica, criação do Serviço Geológico do Brasil e surgimento e desenvolvimento do Museu de Ciências da Terra. Por fim, são descritos alguns objetos de ciência e tecnologia adquiridos pelo Serviço Geológico ao longo de todo o século XX e início do XXI e que contribuíram em pesquisas científicas e inovações tecnológicas. Constatou-se que os objetos identificados são legítimos exemplares para constituir uma nova coleção no acervo do Museu, pois evidenciam história e memória do desenvolvimento do conhecimento científico de Geociências no país, indicando conjunturas política, social, econômica e científica que contextualizam a sociedade.
