                    [0] => In Indonesia, the song Keroncong Tugu originates from a place in the north of Jakarta popularly known as ´Aldeia Portuguesa´ from Tugu. The ascendants of the people of Tugu were mainly mardijkers (freed slaves). Based on ethnographic data collected in field work, this article aims to explore the relationships between the Tugu people and the Betawis, the indigenous population of Jakarta, whoinhabited Batavia colonized by the Dutch, concentrating on their clothing and performing arts. The last part of this paper deals with the recent development of Portugal--Indonesia relations. Taking into account the concept of "cultural performance," outlined by anthropologist Milton Singer, this article demonstrates that the Tugu Keroncong is not only essential as a Tugu marker of identity, but also its performances challenge us to redefine the Tugu people as well as The Betawis, in the context of Jakarta. At the same time, we are given a broader perspective for understanding the interaction between identity and intercultural relations in postcolonial societies.@en
                    [1] => Na Indonésia, a música Keroncong Tugu tem origem em um local no norte de Jakarta conhecido popularmente como ‘Aldeia Portuguesa’ de Tugu. Os ascendentes do povo de Tugu eram principalmente mardijkers (escravos liberados). A partir de dados etnográficos recolhidos em trabalho de campo, este artigo pretende explorar as relações entre o povo Tugu e os Betawis, a população indígena de Jacarta, que habitavam a Batávia colonizada pelos holandeses, concentrando-se em suas indumentárias e artes performáticas. A última parte deste trabalho aborda o recente desenvolvimento das relações Portugal-Indonésia. Tendo em conta o conceito de “performance cultural”, delineado pelo antropólogo Milton Singer, este artigo demonstra que o Keroncong Tugu não é apenas essencial como um marcador de identidade Tugu, mas também as suas performances nos desafiam a redefinir o povo Tugu, bem como os Betawis, no contexto de Jacarta. Ao mesmo tempo, é-nos fornecida uma perspetiva mais ampla para a compreensão da interação entre identidade e relações interculturais nas sociedades pós-coloniais.@pt
