                                            [0] => The aim of the article is to explore the approximations of critical theory with the concepts of appropriation of information and cultural action. The methodology used was Bardin's Content Analysis and the work consists of an exploratory bibliographic research. The study presents the differences between the critical theory and the traditional theory, highlighting their influence on the Social Sciences. It discusses the process of appropriation of information and its role in the creation of new knowledge and social transformation. It also demonstrates the existence of a conceptual pattern in the definitions of cultural action and cultural animation. As a result of the analysis, it is considered that the cultural practices undertaken by the library fulfill their social function when based on critical theory and, thus, lead to the appropriation of information. In this perspective, for the library to be a space that fosters the development of critical thinking and intellectual autonomy among its users, the librarian's action must be based on critical theory.

                                            [1] => O objetivo do artigo é explorar as aproximações da teoria crítica com os conceitos de apropriação da informação e de ação cultural. A metodologia utilizada foi a Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin e o trabalho consiste numa pesquisa exploratória bibliográfica. O estudo apresenta as diferenças entre a teoria crítica e a teoria tradicional, assinalando sua influência nas Ciências Sociais. Discorre sobre o processo da apropriação da informação e seu papel na criação de novos conhecimentos e na transformação social. Também demonstra a existência de um padrão conceitual nas definições de ação cultural e animação cultural. Como resultado da análise, considera-se que as práticas culturais empreendidas pela biblioteca atendem à sua função social quando se baseiam na teoria crítica e, desse modo, conduzem à apropriação da informação. Nessa perspectiva, para que a biblioteca seja um espaço que propicie o desenvolvimento do senso crítico e a autonomia intelectual de seus usuários, a atuação do(a) bibliotecário(a) deve se basear na teoria crítica.
