Objetiva de modo geral, apresentar a Coleção de Literatura de Cordel presente no acervo da Biblioteca Central Zila Mamede, e sua importância para preservação da cultura nordestina. Expõe, como procedimentos metodológicos a pesquisa exploratória, bibliográfica e a realização de visita in loco para a visualização do acervo e coleta de dados. Resulta numa breve apresentação e descrição da Coleção de Literatura de Cordel e sua relevância para cultura Nordestina. Conclui que a Coleção de Literatura de Cordel da Biblioteca Central Zila Mamede, mostra-se relevante para a preservação da cultura nordestina, em diversos aspectos, por retratar o dia a dia das pessoas, o contexto histórico de um local, a religiosidade e o processo criativos dos escritores cordelistas por meio dos seus personagens, contribuindo assim para preservação da cultura.
