                    [0] => Photography, which belongs to the iconographic documentary genre, has transcended its illustrative function and has become part of the definition of a document. Its content records issues related to society, culture, and administration. This study aims to analyze the organization and treatment of photographic documents at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), at the Aristóteles Calazans Simões Campus, in Maceió. The methodological approach was qualitative and descriptive. Data collection was carried out through an open questionnaire addressed to organizational units and document analysis. Seven organizational units were selected. Of these, four were cultural facilities and three were support agencies. In conclusion, the production and storage of photographic documents is a reality at UFAL. However, the context is challenging for professionals working in custodial units. It is necessary to understand the responsibilities of information units; photography with its polysemy, artistic and source of information; whether it is an archival document or collection, based on the context of production or acquisition; establish procedures and techniques for organization, preservation and access.@en
                    [1] => A fotografia, pertencente ao gênero documental iconográfico, transcendeu a função ilustrativa e inseriu-se na definição de documento. Em seu conteúdo registra assuntos relacionados à sociedade, à cultura, à administração. Este trabalho analisa a organização e o tratamento de documentos fotográficos na Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL), no Campus Aristóteles Calazans Simões, em Maceió. A abordagem metodológica é de cunho qualitativo, de caráter descritivo. Em relação à coleta de dados, utiliza questionário aberto, destinado às unidades organizacionais e análise documental. Sete unidades organizacionais foram selecionadas. Desse total, quatro equipamentos culturais e três órgãos de apoio. Como conclusão, a produção e guarda deste documento são uma realidade na Instituição. Contudo, o contexto para garantir o tratamento e organização de documentos fotográficos, com base em procedimentos e operações técnicas da Arquivologia, é desafiador para os profissionais que atuam nas unidades custodiadoras. No âmbito da Universidade necessita-se implementar as políticas de gestão de documentos e de preservação com ações preventivas e curativas, em atendimento à Resolução nº 41/2014, do CONARQ. Isso garantirá que os documentos fotográficos estarão disponíveis como prova, fonte de informação e item de memória, no âmbito administrativo, para as atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão da UFAL e para o uso da população.
