                                            [0] => Despite the progress that has been made in terms of gender equality in research, there are still gaps that are reflected in the minority participation of women as authors of scientific papers. A quantitative analysis was made of the participation of women in environmental science journals indexed in Scopus for the year 2023, their trends, groupings and relationships with bibliometric indicators. We worked with data extracted from Scimago Journals & Country Rank, which were analyzed descriptively, through clusters, correlations and cross-tables. A total of 2473 records were obtained and analyzed by quartile (Q), region of origin and subject category. It was found that female participation is a minority with a median of 36.93%, a maximum of 37.50% per Q (Q4) and 41.26% per region (Africa/Middle East). There are no significant differences in female participation with respect to Q, but significant differences were observed between regions. The relationship between female participation and the SJR and H indicators was not significant, although a dependence of Q on region was observed when female participation was used as a comparison variable. It was found that there is a gender inequality that is not related to the impact of the journals, but is related to the region and the thematic category.
                                            [1] => A pesar de los avances que se han realizado respecto a la igualdad de género en la investigación, aún existen brechas que se muestran en una participación femenina minoritaria como autoras de documentos científicos. Se analizó cuantitativamente la participación femenina en revistas de Ciencias ambientales indexadas en Scopus para el año 2023, sus tendencias, agrupaciones y relaciones con indicadores bibliométricos. Se trabajó con datos extraídos de Scimago Journals & Country Rank, los cuales fueron analizados descriptivamente, por conglomerados, correlación y tablas cruzadas. Se obtuvieron 2473 registros y se analizaron por cuartil (Q), región de origen y categoría temática. Se obtuvo que la participación femenina es minoritaria con una mediana de 36,93%, máximo de 37,50% por Q (Q4) y 41,26% por región (África/Oriente Medio). No existen diferencias significativas en la participación femenina respecto a Q, pero si se observaron diferencias significativas entre regiones. La relación de la participación femenina con los indicadores SJR y H no fue significativa, aunque se observó dependencia de Q con la región al utilizar la participación femenina como variable de comparación. Se comprueba que existe inequidad de géneros, que no está relacionada con el impacto de las revistas, pero si con la región y con la categoría temática.
