                                            [0] => Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the parameters for the design and construction of school libraries. Furthermore, we seek to verify and analyze school libraries in Brazil and Portugal. Methodology: The methodology used in the present study has a quali-descriptive and exploratory nature, a literature review and also used international guidelines and standards/guidelines from organizations such as the American Association of School Librarians, International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, International Association of School Librarianship, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and School Libraries Network. The reality of school libraries in Brazil includes their absence in most Brazilian schools. Data from the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira indicate that most Brazilian schools do not have libraries. Result: The results reveal that many Brazilian schools, in addition to not having school libraries, do not hire trained librarians, as the legislation requires that libraries of the most varied types and formats be managed, organized, information processing and research guidance to the reader be carried out by professionals with university training in Librarianship, and library attendants are required to have a library technician course. Conclusion: We came to the conclusion that there has been progress in relation to the number of school libraries, but it is still below the ideal basics, poor academic preparation and the absence of either the school library and/or the school librarian is still prevalent in a large part of the education system. basic education.
                                            [1] => Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo é investigar os parâmetros para a elaboração e construção de bibliotecas escolares. Além disso, busca-se verificar e fazer uma análise das bibliotecas escolares do Brasil e de Portugal. Metodologia: A metodologia utilizada ao presente estudo tem um cunho quali-descritivo e exploratório, a revisão de literatura e recorreu-se também às diretrizes e normas/orientações internacionais de organizações como American Association of School Librarians, International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, International Association of School Librarianship, Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura e Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares. A realidade das bibliotecas escolares no Brasil inclui a ausência das mesmas em boa parte das escolas brasileiras. Dados do Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira apontam que boa parte das escolas brasileiras não possuem bibliotecas. Resultado: Os resultados desvelam que muitas escolas brasileiras além de não possuírem bibliotecas escolares, não contratam bibliotecários formados, conforme a legislação exige que as bibliotecas dos mais variados tipos e formatos sejam administradas, organizadas, o tratamento informacional e a orientação à pesquisa ao leitor sejam realizados por profissionais com formação universitária em Biblioteconomia, e os atendentes de biblioteca exige-se o curso de técnico em biblioteconomia. Conclusão: Chegamos a conclusão de que houve um avanço em relação ao número de bibliotecas escolares, mas ainda está aquém do básico ideal, a má preparação acadêmica e a ausência seja da biblioteca escolar e/ou do bibliotecário escolar ainda é predominante em boa parte do sistema de educação básica
