                                            [0] => This work aims to analyze the dynamics of silence Orlandi (1992, 1995) as a “space that allows language to signify” amid disputes over meaning about women in Mafalda comic strips produced by cartoonist Quino. To this end, we intend to: (i) investigate the discursive regularities found in the corpus that refer to silence; (ii) describe the functioning of silence and its influence on the construction of meanings; and (iii) understand the role of silence in the face of different discursive formations. As for the methodology, this research has a qualitative approach and documentary nature. We will adopt on materialist Discourse Analysis, initiated with the studies of Pêcheux (1995 [1975]), which considers the historicity and conditions of production amid of discourses and i Orlandi (2021 [1999], 1992) which explores the functioning of silence as a discursive object. We conclude that silence, both the founder/explicit and the politics of silence, which, in this situation, appears as constitutive silence, end up functioning regularly, through the speeches of the character Mafalda, this one crossed by feminist discursive formations, contrasting with the silencing of Raquel, which is crossed by conservative discursive formations produced by the patriarchy.
                                            [1] => Este trabalho visa analisar a dinâmica do silêncio Orlandi (1992, 1995) como “espaço que permite a linguagem significar” em meio a disputas de sentido sobre a mulher em tirinhas da Mafalda produzidas pelo cartunista Quino. Para tanto, pretendemos: (i) investigar as regularidades discursivas encontradas no corpus que remetem ao silêncio; (ii) descrever o funcionamento do silêncio e sua influência na construção de sentidos; e (iii) compreender a atuação do silêncio diante de formações discursivas distintas. Quanto à metodologia, essa pesquisa possui abordagem qualitativa e natureza documental. Apoiamo-nos na Análise do Discurso materialista, iniciada com os estudos de Pêcheux (1995 [1975]), que considera a historicidade e condições de produção em meio aos discursos, além de recorrermos à Orlandi (2021 [1999], 1992) que explora o funcionamento do silêncio como um objeto discursivo. Concluímos que o silêncio, tanto o fundador/explícito quanto a política do silêncio, que, nesse caso, aparece como silêncio constitutivo, acabam funcionando de modo regular, mediante as falas da personagem Mafalda, esta atravessada por formações discursivas feministas, contrastando com o silenciamento de Raquel, este atravessado por formações discursivas conservadoras produzidas pelo patriarcado.
