                                            [0] => Information unit management is a set of integrated theories, functions and techniques and is in progress. Likewise, it is imperative to focus on the epistemic studies of information unit management that allow us to understand its evolution as a field. What are the epistemic dimensions that make up the field of information unit management? The article aimed to describe the epistemic dimensions of the disciplinary field of information unit management in light of its progress. The justification for the study is based on understanding the evolution processes of information unit management. The study adopted a quantitative-qualitative approach as the most effective way to verify the progress of the field. It adopted documentary hermeneutics as a method through the two hermeneutic circles closed/circularity and open/spirality. It is inferred that information unit management is made up of holistic-interdisciplinary dimensions that include: information management; knowledge management; data management; people management; resource management; technology and material management; process management; design thinking; diagnosis and planning; and project management. These recurring holistic-interdisciplinary dimensions are not fixed; they merely represent the current disciplinary configuration of the field. They move as intervening variables, thus reflecting on each other and contributing to filling argumentative and practical gaps in the field. 
                                            [1] => A gestão de unidades de informação é um conjunto de teorias, funções e técnicas integradas e se encontra em progresso. Do mesmo modo, é imperativo debruçar sob os estudos epistêmicos da gestão de unidades de informação que possibilitam compreender a evolução como área. Quais são as dimensões epistêmicas que compõem o campo da gestão de unidades de informação? O artigo teve como objetivo descrever as dimensões epistêmicas do campo disciplinar da gestão de unidades de informação frente ao seu progresso. A justificativa do estudo baseia-se na compreensão dos processos de evolução da gestão de unidades de informação. O estudo adotou uma abordagem quanti-qualitativa como maneira mais eficaz de verificar o progresso do campo. Adotou a hermenêutica de tipo documental como método através dos dois círculos hermenêuticos fechado/circularidade e aberto/espiralidade. Infere-se que a gestão de unidades de informação é constituída por dimensões holísticas-interdisciplinares que incluem: gestão da informação; gestão do conhecimento; gestão de dados; gestão de pessoas; gestão de recursos; gestão de tecnologias e materiais; gestão de processos; design thinking; diagnóstico e planeamento e a gestão de projetos. Essas dimensões holísticas-interdisciplinares recorrentes não são fixas, representam apenas a atual configuração disciplinar do campo. Elas se movimentam como variáveis intervenientes, assim refletindo uma sobre a outra, e contribuindo para preenchimento de gaps argumentativas e práticas do campo.
