                    [0] => Objective: To understand the informational behavior of elderly during the COVID-19 infodemic.
Methods: A qualitative study was conducted, investigating a sample of residents in Brasília (Distrito Federal, Brasil) through semi-structured telephone interviews. The guiding questions were developed based on Wilson´s informational behavior model. After transcribing the interviews, the data were analyzed using Bardin´s Content Analysis with the assistance of the OpenLogos software. Three categories were identified: Seeking information about COVID-19, Processing and using information about COVID-19, and Analyzing received information about COVID-19 or the means of disseminating this information.
Results: Participants sought information about Covid-19 both actively and passively, through various means, with television and WhatsApp being the most prominent. Both scientific and non-scientific information were processed and used, especially those aimed at disease prevention. Despite 85% of the sample critically analyzing the information received about the pandemic and/or the means through which it was disseminated, the remainder did not present a critical analysis of the information about the disease.
Conclusions: This knowledge is useful for planning and developing educational measures aimed at improving this population´s skills in consuming and processing news and information, as well as encouraging the development of strategies to address the psychosocial consequences arising from the COVID-19 infodemic.@en
                    [1] => Objetivo: Conhecer o comportamento informacional de pessoas idosas durante a infodemia de Covid-19.
Método: Foi realizado um estudo qualitativo, que investigou uma amostra residente em Brasília (Distrito Federal, Brasil) por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, realizadas por telefone. As perguntas norteadoras foram desenvolvidas com base no modelo de comportamento informacional de Wilson. Após a transcrição das entrevistas, seus dados foram analisados por meio da Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin, com auxílio do programa OpenLogos. Foram encontradas três categorias: Busca de informações sobre a Covid-19, Processamento e uso das informações sobre a Covid-19 e Análise das informações recebidas sobre a Covid-19 ou do meio de divulgação dessas informações.
Resultados: Os participantes buscaram informações sobre a Covid-19 de forma ativa e passiva, por diversos meios, destacando-se a televisão e o WhatsApp. Tanto informações científicas quanto não científicas foram processadas e utilizadas, sobretudo aquelas voltadas para a prevenção da doença. Apesar de 85% da amostra ter analisado de forma crítica as informações recebidas sobre a pandemia e/ou os meios pelos quais elas foram divulgadas, o restante não apresentou análise crítica em relação às informações sobre a doença.
Conclusões: Trata-se de um conhecimento útil para o planejamento e desenvolvimento de medidas educativas com o objetivo de tornar essa população mais hábil ao consumo e processamento de notícias e informações, além de incentivar o desenvolvimento de medidas de enfrentamento das consequências psicossociais advindas com a infodemia de Covid-19.@pt
