                                            [0] => Introduction: digital curation emerges as an immediate response to large volumes of information, in which it seeks efficient strategies for its management, preservation, and availability. Objective: with the present study, we sought to contextualize digital curation and its aspects, based on the investigation in the E-lis database. The data retrieved on the subject is presented and the importance of digital curation in the context of digital information is discussed, through the literature review. Method: the research method used is a literature review. For the development of the research, the database E-prints for Library and Information Science - E-LIS was selected, as it is a repository with studies and proposals related to the area of information science, with a commitment to open access. The search was conducted in November 2023 on digital curation and digital information. Results: 56 scientific documents were retrieved from the E-lis database, and after reading the abstracts and keywords, 29 documents that did not cover the theme were excluded, and 27 documents were selected, from which they are divided between 24 articles, 2 theses and 1 dissertation. Conclusions: finally, it is understood that digital curation, driven by technological innovations and the demands of information flows available on the web, stands out as an effective solution to manage, preserve and make available large volumes of information. In addition to optimizing access to information, this practice fosters new opportunities for research and interdisciplinary collaboration in the integration of knowledge in the areas of information science, information technology, and cultural studies.
