                                            [0] => This study regards digital preservation of the historical collection of the Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas which has remained exclusively on paper. Based on this investigation, the journal increased its visibility and access to publications of its Historical Series. The preser-vation of this collection in digital format promotes the safekeeping storage, management and or-ganization of the journal in digital media. The objective of the research was to identify and organi-ze, in digital format, content from the Historical Series of the Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas. The qualitative and quantitative research addressed issues inherent to the urgency of digital preservation of collections, based on a bibliographic survey of documentation available on the Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas website. The organi-zation of the editions for digitization was based on the Historical Series that covers the period 1894-2005. The proposed pilot experience initially covered editions from a 20-year period (1985-2005); however, given the use of appropriate equipment, it was possible to cover, in a second phase, five decades (1954-2005); and, finally, complete the digitization of the entire collection. This initiative, in addition to increasing the visibility and access to a historically important periodical, which in 2024 completed 130 years, is important for the continuity of the evaluation and classification at a level of excellence of the Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas, while strengthening the democratization of online access to quality scientific information and observing principles inhe-rent to Open Science. This initiative, in addition to increasing the visibility and access to a historically important periodical, which in 2024 completed 130 years, is important for the continuity of the eva-luation and classification at a level of excellence of the Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas, while strengthening the democratization of online access to quality scientific information and observing principles inherent to Open Science.
 
                                            [1] => Este estudo trata da preservação digital da coleção histórica do Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas que ainda se encontravam em suporte de papel. A partir dessa iniciativa, o periódico ampliou a sua visibilidade e o acesso às publicações da Série Histórica. A preservação desse acervo em meio digital promove a guarda, o armazenamento, o gerenciamento e a organiza-ção da revista. O objetivo da pesquisa foi identificar e organizar, em meio digital, conteúdo da Série Histórica do Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas. A pesquisa de caráter qualiquantitativo abordou questões inerentes à urgência da preservação digital de coleções, a partir de levantamento bibliográfico de documentação disponível na página da web do Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas. A organização das edições para digitalização se deu com base na Série Histórica, que compreende o período de 1894-2005. A experiência-piloto proposta abrangia inicialmente edições de um período de 20 anos (1985-2005), no entanto, dado o uso de equipamento apropriado, foi possível cobrir, em uma segunda fase, cinco décadas (1954-2005); e, por fim, completar a digitalização da totalidade do acervo. Essa iniciativa, além de ampliar a visibilidade e o acesso a um periódico de importância histórica, que em 2024 completou 130 anos, se reveste de importância para a continuidade da avaliação e da classificação em nível de excelência do Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas, ao tempo que fortalece a democratização do acesso online à informação científica de qualidade e observa princípios inerentes à Ciência Aberta.
