                    [0] => The study of maps in the subject of Geography in basic education is constantly treated in a very instrumental way, arousing little interest from students in learning Cartography. It so happens that maps are a genre that communicates social and natural phenomena that are part of people´s daily lives and, therefore, it is a fundamental study for the interpretation of the world. One possibility of overcoming the distance between what is studied and what is experienced in map reading is the observation of their semiotic patterns. It is important that Geography teachers encourage an environment that favors the critical reading of maps. In this sense, this paper aims to analyze maps from cartosemiotic patterns based on the Grammar of Visual Design from Kress and van Leeuwen. For this, a qualitative research was carried out relating the three categories of analysis of the meaning of the image raised by the authors and the maps. As a result, maps representing such categories and a summary table of Visual Grammar applied to maps were generated. With this, it is hoped to create bridges between Portuguese and Geography teachers in schools.@en
                    [1] => O estudo de mapas na disciplina de Geografia na educação básica é constantemente tratado de forma muito instrumental, despertando pouco interesse dos alunos no aprendizado da Cartografia. Acontece que os mapas são um gênero que comunica fenômenos sociais e da natureza que fazem parte do cotidiano das pessoas e, portanto, trata-se de um estudo fundamental para a interpretação do mundo. Uma possibilidade de superar o distanciamento entre o que é estudado e o que é vivenciado na leitura de mapas é a observação de seus padrões semióticos. É importante que os professores de Geografia estimulem um ambiente que favoreça a leitura crítica de mapas. Nesse sentido, neste artigo objetiva-se analisar mapas a partir de padrões cartossemióticos embasados na Gramática Visual de Kress e van Leeuwen. Para isso, foi feita uma pesquisa qualitativa relacionando as três categorias de análise do sentido da imagem levantadas pelos autores e os mapas. Como resultado, foram gerados mapas que representam tais categorias e uma tabela síntese da Gramática Visual aplicada a mapas. Com isso, espera-se criar pontes entre professores de Língua Portuguesa e Geografia nas escolas.@pt
