                                            [0] => This study aims to investigate the intolerant discourses directed towards the participant from Paraíba, Juliette Freire, on the Brazilian version of the reality show Big Brother during its 21st edition. These negative discourses originated from the participant Karol Conká, leading us to reflect on the mode of action and the constructed ideologies. Thus, we seek to describe how the relationship between hate speech and linguistic prejudice is established. Theoretical foundation follows the field of Critical Discourse Analysis, for the discussion of symbolic aspects guiding social practices, particularly with studies on linguistic prejudice (Bagno, 2007, 2012) and hate speech (Araujo & Freitas, 2022). According to the methodology, this article assumes characteristics of qualitative research and employs as a method the modes of operation of ideology (Thompson, 2011). Our corpus consists of two discourses by participant Karol Conká, linked to the Ecoa Uol portal and the iG Gente website respectively, bringing the perception of the effects of these discourses on society. The results point to discourses full of linguistic prejudice and hate speech.
                                            [1] => Este estudo tem como objetivo geral investigar os discursos intolerantes realizados contra a participante paraibana, Juliette Freire, no reality show Big Brother da versão brasileira, durante a sua 21ª edição. Esses discursos negativos partiram da participante Karol Conká, levando-nos a refletir sobre a forma de ação e as ideologias construídas. Assim, buscamos descrever como se estabelece a relação entre o discurso de ódio e o preconceito linguístico. Como fundamentação teórica, seguimos o campo da Análise de Discurso Crítico, para o debate sobre aspectos simbólicos que orientam as práticas sociais, particularmente com os estudos sobre o preconceito linguístico (Bagno, 2007, 2012) e o discurso de ódio (Araujo & Freitas, 2022). De acordo com a metodologia, este artigo assume características de uma pesquisa qualitativa e emprega como método os modos de operação da ideologia (Thompson, 2011). O nosso corpus é formado por dois discursos da participante Karol Conká, vinculados ao portal Ecoa Uol e ao site iG Gente, respectivamente, trazendo a percepção dos efeitos desses discursos para a sociedade. Os resultados apontam para discursos repletos de preconceito linguístico e discurso de ódio.
