This part of literature is something created for the child and not by it. It is a complex activity, encompassing psychic, political and social questions. It also implies that the major objective of this part of literature is to instruct, to inform, to lead and to guide the child. This calls for a full commitment of the publishing industry towards a well designed and well manufactured product in terms of graphic arts. Librarians, teachers, people who promote culture in general are all engaged and responsible for the "development" of "non-development" of the child reader an irreversible process.
