                                            [0] => The study presents the results of an investigation into the information behavior of researchers as users of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at the Institute of Geography of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. These users hold the first position in usage level compared to other users, namely, academic technicians and students. Furthermore, the study object of these researchers is geographical space, where the map constitutes an elemental information source. The problem statement for this research followed the questions: What is the profile of researchers as users of Geographic Information Systems? How is the information behavior of researchers as Geographic Information Systems users at the Institute of Geography of the National Autonomous University of Mexico? What are the variables of information behavior while using Geographic Information Systems software? In which ways library personnel may assist researchers as Geographic Information Systems users? The study applied a qualitative methodology, a focus group technique.
                                            [1] => Se brindan los resultados de una investigación en torno al comportamiento informativo del personal investigador como usuarios de los sistemas de información geográfica (SIG) del Instituto de Geografía de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Este tipo de usuarios ocupa el primer lugar de uso de estos sistemas en comparación con otros usuarios, a saber, técnicos académicos y estudiantes. Además, cabe mencionar que el objeto de estudio de estos investigadores es el espacio geográfico, donde el mapa constituye una fuente básica de información. El planteamiento del problema para esta investigación parte de las siguientes interrogantes: ¿Cuál es el perfil de los investigadores como usuarios que utilizan los sistemas de información geográfica? ¿Cómo es el comportamiento informativo de los investigadores como usuarios de los sistemas de información geográfica en el Instituto de Geografía de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México? ¿Cuáles son las variables del comportamiento informativo en el uso de los programas informáticos de sistemas de información geográfica? ¿De qué maneras el personal de las bibliotecas puede apoyar al investigador como usuario de los sistemas de información geográfica? Se aplicó una metodología cualitativa, la técnica de grupo focal.
