                                            [0] => This article addresses the possibility of using Functional Linguistics, specifically Discursive Semantics, in document reading, a stage of the indexing process, in which Structural Linguistics is commonly used. This approach focuses mainly on structural analysis and has the word as form and meaning, while Discursive Semantics considers as key elements the semantic role that words play in discourse, making it possible to incorporate a more holistic view of the document, taking into account the communicative intention of the authors and the nuances of meaning present in the keywords. To this end, the document reading process is presented with a structuralist view, Discursive Semantics and its possible use and improvement in the indexing process with regard to the collection of keywords. It is concluded that the use of Functional Linguistics in the indexing process represents a promising alternative to the traditional approach based on the structuralist view of discourse, since incorporating the context in the definition of keywords allows for a more detailed description, in addition to considering the entire context of production

                                            [2] => O presente artigo aborda a possibilidade do uso da Linguística Funcional, especificamente da Semântica Discursiva, na leitura documental, etapa do processo de indexação, em que comumente vem sendo utilizado a Linguística Estrutural. Esta abordagem se concentra principalmente em análises estruturais e tem a palavra como forma e sentido, enquanto a Semântica Discursiva considera como elementos-chave o papel semântico que as palavras exercem no discurso, possibilitando incorporar uma visão mais holística do documento, levando em conta a intenção comunicativa dos autores e as nuances de significado presentes nas palavras-chave. Para tanto, são apresentados o processo de leitura documental com visão estruturalista, a Semântica Discursiva e seu possível uso e melhoria no processo de indexação no que concerne ao levantamento de palavras-chave. Conclui-se que a utilização da Linguística Funcional no processo de indexação representa uma promissora alternativa à abordagem tradicional pautada na visão estruturalista do discurso visto que incorporar o contexto na definição de palavras-chave possibilita a descrição mais detalhada além de considerar todo o contexto de produção.
