Libraries and archives are seen as dynamic spaces of power, intellectual autonomy, diversity and resistance. The text also highlights the crucial role of education promoted by these institutions, emphasizing the importance of literacy in individual empowerment and resistance to manipulation. Furthermore, it addresses the context of digital libraries and archives, highlighting their role in the democratization of knowledge and the preservation of users´ privacy.                     [1] => O texto explora a interseção entre poder, controle e informação ao analisar a obra Vigiar e Punir de Michel Foucault, destacando a importância da biblioteca e o arquivo na democratização do conhecimento e preservação da memória. Indaga: como se dá a interseção entre estes elementos e como influenciam as estruturas de poder, autonomia intelectual e a resistência presente na sociedade digital? Busca analisar a interação entre bibliotecas, arquivos e o pensamento de Michel Foucault em Vigiar e Punir, compreendendo como as dinâmicas de poder, controle, acesso à informação e preservação da memória impactam a sociedade contemporânea. Trata-se de uma investigação qualitativa, de revisão bibliográfica, que se propôs a analisar as relações envolvendo esta tríade. A partir das reflexões estabelecidas, depreende-se que a relação entre Foucault, biblioteca e arquivo revela-se complexa, influenciando a capacidade de resistência, diversidade de perspectivas e busca pela verdade. Na acepção assumida, são reconhecidos como espaços dinâmicos de poder, autonomia intelectual, diversidade e resistência, enfatizando a importância do processo educativo na capacitação individual e na emancipação. Além disso, aborda o contexto das bibliotecas e arquivos digitais, ressaltando sua contribuição para a democratização do conhecimento e para a preservação da privacidade dos usuários. Em síntese, aportamos que a compreensão acerca dos atravessamentos que perpassam esta tríade é essencial para a reflexão sobre temas como poder, controle, acesso à informação e preservação da memória na era digital, enfatizando o papel dinâmico dessas instituições na construção contínua do conhecimento e da identidade coletiva.@pt
