                                            [0] => This article aims to identify the perceptions of academics participating in a research group in the field of History, linked to the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) about their informational skills with regard to searches in databases for conducting academic research. In this perspective, the possibility of analyzing how familiar academics / researchers are with regard to search strategies with regard to scientific information is justified. In addition, the perception of students when establishing a relationship between their scientific information needs and what their institution promotes to address them. The investigation has a quali-quantitative approach. A questionnaire was applied containing 10 questions (two open and eight closed). It is believed that there is a need for an institutional dialogue on what permeates the construction of policies aimed at information literacy, from the perspective of instructing academics in their searches in reliable sources for the construction of their scientific research. Therefore, under the understanding of a diametrical relationship between the need for and the promotion of programs in information literacy, there is a wide field of action in which the institution can appropriate itself and contribute to the development of informational skills of its academics and, as a result of society.
                                            [1] => Este artigo visa identificar as percepções dos acadêmicos partícipes de um grupo de pesquisa da área de História, vinculado a Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) sobre suas habilidades informacionais no que diz respeito às buscas em bases de dados para a realização de pesquisas acadêmicas. Nessa perspectiva, justifica-se a possibilidade de análise do quão familiarizados os acadêmicos/pesquisadores estão quanto as estratégias de buscas no que se refere a informações científicas. Além disso, a percepção dos estudantes ao estabelecer uma relação entre suas necessidades informacionais científicas e o que sua instituição promove para saná-las. A investigação tem uma abordagem quali-quantitativa. Aplicou-se um questionário contendo 10 questões (duas abertas e oito fechadas). Acredita-se que há necessidade de um diálogo institucional sobre o que permeia a construção de políticas voltadas à competência em informação, sob a perspectiva de instrumentalizar os acadêmicos em suas buscas em fontes fidedignas para a construção de suas pesquisas científicas. Portanto, sob o entendimento de uma relação diametral entre necessidade e promoção de programas em competência em informação, há um vasto campo de atuação em que a instituição pode se apropriar e contribuir para o desenvolvimento de habilidades informacionais de seus acadêmicos e, em consequência da sociedade.
