                    [0] => Historical museums created from a colonial perspective have been invited, in the face of a latent social demand, to rethink their social functions. This research presents as its central theme the study of the museum, and society with the aim of knowing what actions the Maranhão Historical and Artistic Museum (MHAM) has carried out to create a relationship of belonging between the museum and society. The research problem lies in the following question: how has MHAM Duration sought to work with cultural, identity issues, social problems and collective memories? Created from a colonial perspective, the MHAM has a collection, with objects that environmentalize a period house from the 19th century, where it is possible to carry out reflections, dialogues that enable the construction of new knowledge, based on the relationship between the museum and society . The research has a qualitative approach. Data were collected through direct observation and the application of a questionnaire with open questions to MHAM professionals. The technique used to interpret the answers to the questionnaires was Content Analysis and the steps such as pre-analysis, exploration of the material and treatment of the results obtained and interpretation. In the final considerations, we see that the MHAM is a place of memory, with a trajectory marked by several challenges, from its creation to the present day and that it still maintains its discourse in the field of traditional museology.@en
                    [1] => Os museus históricos criados numa perspectiva colonial, têm sido convidados em face a uma demanda social latente, a repensarem suas funções sociais. Esta pesquisa apresenta como tema central o estudo do museu, museologia social e sociedade com o objetivo de conhecer quais ações o Museu Histórico e Artístico do Maranhão (MHAM) tem realizado para criar uma relação de pertencimento entre museu e a sociedade. O problema da pesquisa, está no seguinte questionamento: como o MHAM duração tem buscado trabalhar com questões culturais, identitárias, problemas sociais e as memórias coletivas? Criado numa perspectiva colonial, o MHAM possui um acervo, com objetos que ambientalizam uma casa de época do século XIX, onde é possível realizar reflexões, diálogos que possibilitem a construção de novos conhecimentos, a partir da relação entre o museu e a sociedade. A pesquisa é de abordagem qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados por meio da observação direta e da aplicação do questionário com perguntas abertas para as profissionais do MHAM. A técnica empregada para interpretação das respostas dos questionários, foi a Análise de conteúdo e as etapas como a pré análise, exploração do material e tratamento dos resultados obtidos e interpretação. Nas considerações finais, verificamos que o MHAM é um lugar de memória, com uma trajetória marcada por diversos desafios, desde a sua criação até os dias atuais e que ainda mantém seu discurso no campo da museologia tradicional.@pt
