                    [0] => Expatriation is an opportunity to gain knowledge abroad and repatriation represents the possibility for the individual to disseminate and apply this knowledge in the organization. The organization, in turn, can retain knowledge, improve its processes and increase its intellectual capital. The expatriate is important as a source of human capital and for knowledge transfer. However, there is a gap in studies aimed at investigating strategic issues of the expatriation process, mainly referring to strategic issues that involve strategic issues of knowledge. The objective of this research is to identify and understand the knowledge of Brazilian expatriates and a unit of analysis is the individual. This is a qualitative study, carried out with twenty Brazilian expatriates, having the individual as the unit of analysis. Data collection was carried out through individual interviews with a semi-structured script and taking place in virtual mode. The results present a set of learnings resulting from expatriation, with effects for the participants, for the group that shares work relationships and for the organizations. This study of knowledge retained for the field of management, in the sense of expanding knowledge around knowledge retained from experiences lived by expatriates. As a limitation of the study, we highlight the fact that all expatriates were expatriates to Africa. It is suggested that future studies expand the destination of expatriates, which can extend the types of learning during expatriation.@en
                    [1] => A expatriação é uma oportunidade de auferir conhecimento no exterior e a repatriação representa a possibilidade de o indivíduo disseminar e aplicar esse conhecimento na organização. A organização, por sua vez, pode reter o conhecimento, aprimorar seus processos e aumentar seu capital intelectual. O expatriado é importante como fonte de capital humano e para a transferência de conhecimento. Contudo, verifica-se uma lacuna de estudos com o objetivo de investigar questões estratégicas resultantes do processo de expatriação, principalmente referente às questões estratégicas que envolvam retenção do conhecimento. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar e compreender a retenção de conhecimentos por expatriados brasileiros e a análise é o indivíduo. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, realizado com vinte expatriados brasileiros, tendo como unidade de análise, o indivíduo. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevistas individuais com roteiro semiestruturado e aconteceram no modo virtual. Os resultados apresentam um conjunto de aprendizados resultantes da expatriação, com efeitos para os indivíduos, para o grupo que compartilhar relações de trabalho e para as organizações. Este estudo contribuiu para o campo da Gestão do Conhecimento, no sentido de ampliar o conhecimento em torno de conhecimentos retidos provenientes de experiências vividas por expatriados. Como limitação do estudo, destaca-se o fato de todos os expatriados terem sido expatriados para a África. Sugere-se que futuros estudos ampliem o destino dos expatriados, o que pode ampliar os tipos de aprendizados durante a expatriação.@pt
