                    [0] => This article emphasizes the importance of the information industry for scientific and technological development, in view of the exarcebation of the competitiveness among
companies and countries in a globalized world. The information industry in Brazil is still far from the ideal due to lack of financial, human and operational resources, and, especially, due
to a lack of data consolidation and to the absence of a business information searching culture. In other words, most companies do not search for information before making decisions. Even though the Federal Government is the major information producer, this information is used only for the government internal management, and is not shared with the
private sector.@en

e os países. Apresenta as iniciativas da indústria da informação no Brasil, as quais ainda estão longe do ideal pela carência de recursos financeiros, humanos, operacionais e,
principalmente, pela falta de consolidar dados, assim como não existe a cultura de buscar informações para a tomada de decisões pela maioria das empresas. Embora o Estado seja
o maior produtor de informações, são exclusivas de sua própria gestão, sem a preocupação de gerá-las em parceria com a iniciativa privada, para contribuir com o crescimento sócioeconômico do país.@pt
