                                            [0] => This article is the result of a chapter of a dissertation, presented to the Professional Master's Program in Learning Organizations (MPGOA), at the Federal University of Paraiba, and aims to analyze the role of the Archivist in the actions of creating organizational knowledge. Concepts of Knowledge Management, the theory of organizational knowledge creation and a brief history of the Archivist profession are presented, focusing on the need for this professional to be open to the adaptation of emerging paradigms, one of which is Knowledge Management. This is a qualitative research, descriptive and exploratory in nature, which uses bibliographic research as a methodological procedure. By way of conclusion, the recognition of the importance of the professional Archivist acting beyond their competences, most of the times limited to the seven archival functions listed by Rousseau and Couture (1998) is cogent. Should also act, with a focus on the creation of organizational knowledge and, more broadly, on Knowledge Management, through studies and complementary training, in this way the profession of the Archivist will present itself with greater relevance, in the organizational context and will provide the organization with conditions to achieve its objectives more effectively.
                                            [1] => Analisa o papel do Arquivista nas ações de criação do conhecimento organizacional. Apresenta conceitos de Gestão do Conhecimento, da Teoria da Criação do Conhecimento Organizacional e breve histórico da profissão do Arquivista, enfocando a necessidade deste profissional estar receptivo à adequação de paradigmas emergentes, como a Gestão do Conhecimento. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, de natureza descritiva e exploratória, que utiliza como procedimento metodológico a pesquisa bibliográfica. À guisa de conclusão, faz-se cogente o reconhecimento da importância de o profissional arquivista atuar além das competências, circunscritas às sete funções arquivísticas, elencadas por Rousseau e Couture (1998). Devendo atuar, com foco na criação do conhecimento organizacional e de forma mais ampla, na Gestão do Conhecimento, por meio de estudos e formação complementar, e assim, a profissão do arquivista se apresentará com maior relevância, no contexto organizacional e propiciará às organizações melhores condições para a consecução de seus objetivos.
