                                            [0] => This work aims to explain the importance of scientific images, for teaching, research and extension purposes, including scientific dissemination. It seeks to make explicit the need to consider the specific attributes of imagery documents - which differ from textual ones - in the processes of organization and representation of information, for the purpose of recovery. Above all, the potential of scientific images stands out because they are carriers of information and knowledge.
