                                            [0] => Introduction: Latin American countries have contributed knowledge and proposals on COVID-19 in scientific publications with a relative impact on Latin American science.Objective: To characterize Honduran scientific production on COVID-19 between 2020 and 2023.Method: Observational, descriptive and retrospective study through bibliometric indicators. Publications with Honduran authorship or affiliation were considered, based on their indexing in Science Direct, SciELO, Google Scholar, PubMed, Central American Journals Online, and the Directory of Open Access Journals. The information was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Microsoft Excel software.Results: 135 publications were found in 95 journals; 90.4% open access, with the participation of 1,610 authors; 30.3% belonging to Honduran institutions; and 70% international collaboration linked to 19 countries. Women accounted for 46% of all authors, and 48% of these had Honduran affiliation. 56.3% of the publications were generated by Honduran national universities, institutions and medical associations, and achieved not only high indexing, but also presence in the national ecosystem of journals.Conclusions: Honduran scientific production during the pandemic was characterized by leadership, equal participation of women researchers and high internationalization. The entire structure generating scientific research in the country must be strengthened.
                                            [1] => Introducción: Los países latinoamericanos han aportado conocimientos y propuestas sobre el COVID-19 en publicaciones científicas con relativo impacto para la ciencia latinoamericana.Objetivo: Caracterizar la producción científica hondureña sobre COVID-19 entre 2020 y 2023.Método: Estudio observacional, descriptivo y retrospectivo a través indicadores bibliométricos. Se consideraron las publicaciones con autoría o afiliación hondureña, a partir de su indización en Science Direct, SciELO, Google Académico, PubMed, Central American Journals Online, y el Directory of Open Access Journals. Se analizó la información a partir de estadísticos descriptivos y el software Microsoft Excel.Resultados: Se encontraron 135 publicaciones en 95 revistas; 90,4 % de acceso abierto, con la participación de 1610 autores; 30,3 % pertenecientes a instituciones hondureñas; y un 70 % de colaboración internacional vinculada con 19 países. Las mujeres sumaron el 46 % entre todos los autores, y el 48 % de estos tuvieron afiliación hondureña. El 56,3 % de las publicaciones se generó desde universidades nacionales, instituciones y gremios médicos hondureños, y alcanzó no solo alta indización, sino también presencia en el ecosistema nacional de revistas.Conclusiones: La producción científica hondureña durante la pandemia se caracterizó por el liderazgo, la participación equitativa de las mujeres investigadoras y la alta internacionalización. Se debe fortalecer toda la estructura generadora de investigación científica en el país.
