                                            [0] => This paper aims at describing some philological and linguistic features of the correspondence between two important Brazilian politicians exchanged in the first half of the 20th century, namely Washington Luís and Júlio Prestes. As part of a broader project, the research involves selecting and editing manuscripts written by people born in the State of São Paulo so as to investigate the language status through the centuries. The letters were selected from the archive of both politicians (preserved in Arquivo Público do Estado de São Paulo), in order to identify traces of the dialogue held between them. The analysis is based on morphosyntactic aspects, such as the use of personal pronouns, and textual elements like correction marks, topic development and so forth.
                                            [1] => Neste artigo apresento uma descrição filológica e linguística da correspondência trocada por Washington Luís e Júlio Prestes na primeira metade do século XX. Os aspectos analisados vão desde os elementos gráficos dos textos até aspectos morfossintáticos (uso de pronomes pessoais, fórmulas fixas etc.) e textuais, como marcas de correção, temas tratados, entre outros. Essa pesquisa faz parte do projeto temático História do Português Paulista II (FAPESP 11/51787-5), em que se investiga a história da variedade paulista do português em diferentes perspectivas a partir de documentos antigos e textos orais.
