                    [0] => This research work aims to highlight the role of institutional repositories as sources of information, and their importance as a tool for social transformation by analyzing the works deposited at RI/UFBA, within the scope of the University´s massive scientific production, and its importance as a source of research scientific approach to the theme ´violence against women´, thus fulfilling a scientific and social role. A search was carried out in RI/UFBA, using Boolean operators, in order to expand the search for works on the semantic term “violence against women”, as well as terms related to women: “women’s rights”, “domestic violence” , gender violence”, “feminine gender-right”, and other words. This research revealed a significant volume of data for the proposed semantic term, especially when related to other terms such as “gender violence”, “women’s rights”, “women’s health”, “feminism”, “femicide”. An interdisciplinarity was also noticed between the areas of knowledge where works on this topic were found. We conclude that carrying out this research demonstrated the need to create alternative methodologies for thematic and descriptive organization and representation of scientific information at UFBA, in order to favor the updating and/or construction of controlled vocabularies at the University, the management of scientific information, the informational potential of the institutional repository, through a topic sensitive to society such as ´violence against women´.@en
                    [1] => Este trabalho de pesquisa pretende destacar o papel dos repositórios institucionais como fontes de informação, e sua importância como ferramenta de transformação social ao analisar os trabalhos depositados no RI/UFBA, no âmbito da massiva produção científica da Universidade, e sua importância como fonte de pesquisa científica em um recorte do tema ‘violência contra a mulher’, cumprindo assim um papel científico e social. Realizou-se uma busca no RI/UFBA, usando operadores booleanos, a fim de ampliar a busca de trabalhos acerca do termo semântico “violência contra a mulher”, bem como termos relacionados à mulher: “direito da mulher”, “violência doméstica”, violência de gênero”, “gênero feminino-direito”, e outras palavras. Tal pesquisa revelou um volume expressivo de dados para o termo semântico proposto, principalmente quando relacionado a outros termos como “violência de gênero”, “direito da mulher”, “saúde da mulher”, “feminismo”, “feminicídio”. Percebeu-se também uma interdisciplinaridade entre as áreas do conhecimento onde foram encontrados os trabalhos sobre essa temática. Concluímos que a realização desta pesquisa demonstrou a necessidade de se criar metodologias alternativas para organização e representação temática e descritiva da informação científica na UFBA, de modo a favorecer a atualização e/ou construção de vocabulários controlados na Universidade, a gestão da informação científica, o potencial informacional do repositório institucional, através de uma temática sensível à sociedade como ‘violência contra a mulher’.@pt
