                    [0] => It presents the results obtained by analysing, in the light of information management, the existing functionalities of the Laboratory Information Management System used by the Portuguese Judiciary Police (JP). In order to meet the proposed objective, it was necessary to carry out a literature review, covering the themes of software and information management; describe the functionalities of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) used by the Portuguese Judiciary Police; and identify and analyse, in the light of the literature, which axes of information management are included in the software in question. This is an applied, exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach. It uses an interview as a data collection tool, as well as documentary research. The research met the proposed objectives and was developed using Choo´s Information Management Process Model, published in 2006. From the results’ analysis, it was possible to conclude that the functionalities of the Labway software are correlated with the Process Model of Information Management mentioned above, so that it is possible to identify the premises of traditional library work in the software´s functions. Activities such as information representation, indexing and retrieval were identified, confirming the interrelationship between the laboratory management software used by JP and the competences of the professional librarian.@en
                    [1] => Apresenta os resultados obtidos mediante a análise à luz da gestão da informação, das funcionalidades existentes no Sistema de Gerenciamento de Informações Laboratoriais, utilizado pela Polícia Judiciária (PJ) de Portugal. Para cumprir o objetivo proposto, foi necessário realizar revisão de literatura, contemplando as temáticas de software e gestão da informação; descrever as funcionalidades do Sistema de Gerenciamento de Informações Laboratoriais (Laboratory Information Management System - LIMS) utilizado pela Polícia Judiciária Portuguesa; e identificar e analisar à luz da literatura, quais eixos da gestão da informação estão contemplados no software em questão. Trata-se de uma pesquisa aplicada, exploratória e descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa. Utiliza como instrumento de coleta de dados uma entrevista, bem como a pesquisa documental. A pesquisa cumpriu com os objetivos propostos, a qual foi desenvolvida através do Modelo Processual de Administração da Informação de Choo, publicado no ano de 2006. A partir da análise dos resultados, foi possível concluir que as funcionalidades do software Labway são correlacionadas com o Modelo Processual de Administração da Informação supracitado, de forma que é possível identificar nas funções do software as premissas dos fazeres biblioteconômicos tradicionais. Foram identificadas atividades como representação, indexação e recuperação da informação, afirmando a interrelação do software de gerenciamento laboratorial utilizado pela PJ com as competências do profissional bibliotecário.@pt
