                                            [0] => It presents how the service “Orientation for research in databases” is provided in the sectorial library of the Health Sciences Center of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The service aims to enable the user to gain autonomy in decisions ranging from the identification of the main subjects of the research, formulation of the search strategy and choice of the most adequate sources of information for the retrieval of information. As a result, the tacit knowledge of librarians was systematized, in which it was possible to build a guide that will guide users and information professionals throughout the journey of scientific information search in the health area. It is concluded that the library can play a fundamental role in the quality of the research that is produced by the community it serves, since knowing what one is looking for, in the right place and in the right way, are the first steps of a successful research.
                                            [1] => Apresenta como é prestado o serviço “Orientação para pesquisa em bases de dados” na biblioteca setorial do Centro de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. O serviço visa capacitar o usuário na conquista de autonomia em decisões que perpassam desde a identificação dos assuntos principais da pesquisa, formulação da estratégia de busca e escolha das fontes de informação mais adequadas para a recuperação da informação. Como resultado obteve-se a sistematização do conhecimento tácito dos bibliotecários, no qual foi possível construir um guia que orientará usuários e profissionais da informação em todo percurso da busca informacional científica da área da saúde. Conclui-se que a biblioteca pode desempenhar um papel fundamental na qualidade das pesquisas que são produzidas pela comunidade a que atende, pois saber o que se busca, no local adequado e da maneira correta, são os primeiros passos de uma pesquisa exitosa.
