                                            [0] => This contribution is based on the premise that inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean is a multidimensional problem that further deepened existing gaps. Faced with this situation, the democratization of knowledge is a fundamental strategy to address inequality, and its democratic and equitable access must be guaranteed by coherent and comprehensive State policies. It analyzes three programs and public policies that emerged in Argentina in the first decades of the 21st century, which guarantee access to and use of information and the democratization of knowledge: the Conectar Igualdad Program; the Open Access Digital Repositories law, and the Access to Public Information law. Finally, it reflects on the contributions that Library and Information Science professionals can make to strengthen these guidelines and effectively contribute to the construction of more inclusive, balanced and democratic societies.
                                            [1] => Este trabajo parte de la premisa de que la desigualdad en América Latina y El Caribe es una problemática multidimensional que profundizó más las brechas existentes. Ante esta situación, la democratización del conocimiento constituye una estrategia fundamental para abordar la desigualdad, y su acceso democrático y equitativo debe estar garantizado por políticas de Estado coherentes e integrales. Se analizan tres programas y políticas públicas surgidas en Argentina en las primeras décadas del siglo XXI, que garantizan el acceso y uso de la información y la democratización del conocimiento: el Programa Conectar Igualdad; la ley de repositorios digitales de acceso abierto, y la ley de acceso a la información pública. Finalmente, se reflexiona acerca de los aportes que pueden efectuar los profesionales de la Bibliotecología y la Ciencia de la Información para afianzar estos lineamientos y contribuir efectivamente con la construcción de sociedades más inclusivas, equilibradas y democráticas.
