                    [0] => This research presents an intersection between the field of Information Science and Semiotics, through a correlation between information representation and plastic semiotics, since both areas present concerns in relation to language and representation. The objective of this research, of qualitative approach, exploratory character and applied nature, is to analyze the theoretical foundations of plastic semiotics and discuss the possibility of establishing relations between information representation and these semiotic foundations in order to contribute to the theoretical and epistemological bases of Information Organization. Through bibliographic research procedures, in the Google Scholar, Periódicos Capes, Dialnet and BRAPCI databases, as well as consultations in specialized books on the theme, the results are elaborated using the content analysis method. As results, an analysis of comics is presented, as a practical and applied example of how such theory can contribute to the representation of visual and/or syncretic objects. It is concluded that plastic semiotics has much to contribute to the field of Information Science, especially in the thematic representation for document interpretation, by analyzing the visual aspects identifying signs and meanings present in the works, making it possible to direct the technical reading, identification and description of the content, important steps in indexing.@en
                    [1] => Esta pesquisa apresenta uma interseção entre o campo da Ciência da Informação e da Semiótica, por meio de uma correlação entre a representação da informação e a semiótica plástica, pois ambas as áreas apresentam preocupações em relação à linguagem e à representação. O objetivo desta pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa, caráter exploratório e natureza aplicada, é analisar os fundamentos teóricos da semiótica plástica e debater sobre a possibilidade de estabelecer relações entre a representação da informação e a esses fundamentos semióticos com vistas a contribuir para as bases teóricas e epistemológicas da Organização da Informação. Por meio de procedimentos da pesquisa bibliográfica, nas bases de dados Google Scholar, Periódicos Capes, Dialnet e Brapci, além de consultas em livros especializados sobre o tema, os resultados são elaborados com uso do método de análise de conteúdo. Como resultados, apresenta-se uma análise de histórias em quadrinhos, como um exemplo prático e aplicado de como tal teoria pode contribuir à representação de objetos visuais e/ou sincréticos. Conclui-se que semiótica plástica tem muito a contribuir ao campo da Ciência da Informação, principalmente na representação temática para interpretação do documento, ao analisar os aspectos visuais identificando signos e significados presentes nas obras, possibilitando direcionar a leitura técnica, identificação e descrição do conteúdo, etapas importantes da indexação.@pt
