                                            [0] => Portuguese public universities (UPP) use Facebook to communicate with their target audience.Firstly, we identified which UPP get Facebook and how they position themselves in terms of likes, comments and shares. In the analysis of the use of this tool, the frequency in number of posts and the type of information conveyed were examined and we tried to identify the extent related to the use of hashtags, inclusion of photography and/or video. The results obtained revealed that UPP use Facebook to communicate, however they position themselves in different ways on the network. There is a lot of work to be done if they choose to bet on Facebook as their primary communication tool. The posts are mostly short texts with images proving concern in making communication more humane with successful posts. They make use of news from external media to promote themselves and the use of hastags and videos in the posts is not observed.
                                            [1] => O presente artigo tem como objetivo investigar se as universidades públicas portuguesas (UPP) usam o Facebook para comunicar com o seu público-alvo.Primeiramente identificámos quais UPP têm Facebook e como se posicionam em termos de ‘gostos’, comentários e partilhas. Na análise de utilização desta ferramenta examinou-se a frequência em número de posts, a tipologia de informação veiculada e procurámos identificar a extensão relativa ao uso de hashtags, inclusão de fotografia e/ou vídeo. Os resultados obtidos revelaram que UPP usam o Facebook para comunicar, no entanto posicionam-se de diferentes formas na rede. Há muito trabalho a ser feito caso optem por apostar no Facebook como ferramenta de comunicação principal. Os posts são, maioritariamente, textos curtos com imagens provando preocupação em tornar a comunicação mais humana com posts bem-sucedidos. Fazem uso de notícias de media externos para se promoverem e não se observa o uso de hastags e vídeos nos posts.
