                                            [1] => Desde un enfoque cualitativo, con la estrategia metodológica estudio de caso, la base comprensiva sobre biblioteca pública (discursos rectores) y los fundamentos conceptuales de la educación social, y mediante el uso de técnicas cualitativas (la observación participante y la entrevista), se analiza el aporte de la biblioteca pública en procesos de formación ciudadana desde las prácticas de la convivencia, la participación y la autonomía. Prácticas ciudadanas que surgen de las interacciones, las relaciones y las acciones en la biblioteca pública y que dan cuenta de los nuevos sentidos y funciones de esta institución en el siglo XXI, inmersa en una sociedad que, al buscar la democracia, confiere a la información y al conocimiento categoría de medios esenciales para el ejercicio ciudadano y base para lograr trasformaciones del sujeto y de la realidad social.
