                                            [0] => This article addresses two key issues related to the Master in Information Sciences: the importance of postgraduate studies, and the unifying role that Information Sciences play in inter and multidisciplinary processes aimed at the understanding of the information phenomenon in today’s world. This task sees the academic universe as an environment where science is, re-contextualized, institutionalized, and organized around teaching and research projects that are directed at having a humanizing effect. It also understands Information Sciences as a strategic project of reflection and participation in today’s social order.

Este texto aborda dos cuestiones fundamentales para los estudios de Maestría en Ciencia de la Información: el valor trascendente de los estudios universitarios de posgrado y la condición que tiene la Ciencia de la Información como elemento aglutinador de los procesos inter y multidisciplinares dirigidos a la comprensión del fenómeno de la información en el mundo contemporáneo. En esta tarea concibe el mundo académico universitario como ámbito propio de la ciencia organizada, recontextualizada e institucionalizada alrededor de proyectos de docencia e investigación dirigidos a la humanización; y a la ciencia de la información como un proyecto estratégico de reflexión e intervención del orden social contemporáneo.
