                    [0] => El presente artículo trata sobre la producción del libro en el Perú, enfatizando en la actividad editorial y la aprobación de la Ley del libro, que actualmente se encuentra en el Congreso de la República. Existe una relación muy estrecha entre el autor, editor y librero; en nuestro medio, el autor se transforma en editor para disminuir los costos y finalmente, en distribuidor y vendedor de sus libros o publicaciones periódicas. En el periodo analizado, existe una constante: falta de una Ley del Libro que promueva ediciones populares para la población y fomente el hábito de la lectura en el ámbito local, regional y nacional. Necesitamos crear una conciencia lectora en los amigos, colegas profesionales, estudiantes. Es importante remarcar que, las actividades editoriales universitarias vienen recibiendo un significativo apoyo para publicar libros en temas novedosos y de interés en la comunidad universitaria nacional e internacional.Palabras clave: actividad editorial, industria del libro, Bibliotecología, comercio del libro, Perú. The Book´s Production in Peru, 1960-2002AbstractThis paper talks about the book´s production in Peru, with emphasis on the editorial activity and the book´s law approbation, that actually is on the Republic Congress. There is a very close relation between the author, editor and the bookseller; in our envelopment, the author becomes in editor in order to diminish the costs and finally in distributor and seller of his books or periodic publications. In the analyzed period, exists a constant: lacks a Book´s law that promotes popular editions to the population and foments the reading habit in the local, regional and national background. We need create a reading conscience among the friends, professional partners and students.
