                    [0] => The subject of this article is the treatment of archival documents at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. It aims to know the path taken by UFMG in the treatment of documents since the 1970s to understand the current situation of the organization and evaluate the possible paths to be followed for the consolidation of an institutional archival policy that guarantees efficient document management, in the preservation and access. The established methodology was based on bibliographical research, documentary sources, and on-site research. As a result, it was found that the various initiatives undertaken by the University in the treatment of its documents contributed to reflection on an institutional archival policy, but were not sufficient for its full implementation. The article presents part of the studies carried out in the dissertation defended in the Graduate Program in Information Science at UFMG, entitled “The archival documental treatment at the Federal University of Minas Gerais: a case study at the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences”.@en
                    [1] => As universidades, no decorrer das atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão, produzem e acumulam documentos essenciais ao seu funcionamento e que se tornam fontes de pesquisa e de comprovação de direitos para alunos, professores, servidores, historiadores e pesquisadores em geral. Os documentos arquivísticos da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) são considerados patrimônios da instituição e, em alguns casos, são armazenados em espaços destinados a serviços de arquivo e em setores de trabalho. Conhecer o percurso empreendido pela instituição no trato de seus documentos ao longo do tempo nos permite entender a situação atual de organização de seu acervo e avaliar os possíveis caminhos a serem percorridos para a consolidação de uma política arquivística institucional que garanta a gestão documental eficiente, em preservação e acesso. Esse artigo apresenta parte dos estudos empreendidos no curso de Mestrado do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.@pt
