                                            [0] => This article analyzes the representation of black women in the newspaper Gazeta de Notícias do Rio de Janeiro between the years 1890 and 1895. The work aims to explain the importance of newspapers in the study of educational history, observe the frequency of speeches about black women in this communication vehicle, and examine the content of these manifestations. Based on this data collection, the theory of representations was used from theorists such as Hall and Chartier, to understand how the media of the time contributed to the construction of the image of black women in society.
                                            [1] => O presente artigo propõe-se analisar a representação da mulher negra no jornal Gazeta de Notícias do Rio de Janeiro entre os anos 1890 e 1895. O trabalho objetiva explicar a importância dos periódicos nos estudos da história da educação, observar a frequência dos discursos de/sobre mulheres negras neste veículo comunicacional, além de, examinar o teor dessas manifestações. A partir deste levantamento de dados, utilizou-se a teoria das representações a partir de teóricos como Hall e Chartier, para entender como a mídia da época contribuiu para a construção da imagem da mulher negra na sociedade.
