                                            [0] => The study was developed based on the analysis of the archival documents of the current National Museum of Fine Arts, in addition to the collections that integrated the two institutions that preceded the existence of the current body: the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts and the National School of Fine Arts. The research investigates problems with the arrangement and description applied at present, motivated by observations such as the obstacles to data retrieval in the collection, confusion in the relationships between the documents of the past and the current structure, difficulties in the identification of the producers of the items, in addition to problems with guidelines regarding the classification and internal organization adopted for the collection.

O estudo foi desenvolvido com base em análise dos documentos arquivísticos do atual Museu Nacional de Belas Artes, acrescido dos acervos que integraram as duas instituições antecessoras a existência do órgão atual: Academia Imperial de Belas Artes e Escola Nacional de Belas Artes. A pesquisa investiga problemas quanto ao arranjo e a descrição aplicadas atualmente, motivada por observações como os entraves de recuperação de dados no acervo, confusões nas relações entre os documentos do passado e a estrutura atual, dificuldades com a constatação de produtores dos itens, além de problemas de diretrizes quanto a classificação e organização interna adotada para o acervo.
