                                            [0] => This article addresses the relationship between memory and libraries, alluding to the concept of memory institutions. To do so, the text presents some definitions of memory, using three authors: Astrid Erll, Paul Connerton and Elizabeth Jelin. It then discusses why libraries are memory institutions and the implications derived from this concept. Finally, the text raises some of the challenges facing these institutions in the face of the pandemic. The research methodology used is qualitative, using the strategy of documentary research and interviews. This work contributes to broaden the conception of libraries as institutions for the transfer and use of information to that of libraries as institutions of memory in a dialogic and communicative sense
                                            [1] => Este artigo aborda a relação entre memória e bibliotecas, aludindo ao conceito de instituições de memória. Para isso, o texto apresenta algumas definições de memória, recorrendo a três autores: Astrid Erll, Paul Connerton e Elizabeth Jelin. Em seguida, discute-se por que as bibliotecas são instituições de memória e as implicações derivadas deste conceito. Finalmente, o texto levanta alguns dos desafios enfrentados por estas instituições diante da pandemia. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada é qualitativa, utilizando a estratégia de pesquisa documental e entrevistas. Este trabalho contribui para ampliar a concepção de bibliotecas como instituições de transferência e uso de informações para a de bibliotecas como instituições de memória em um sentido dialógico e comunicativo.
