                                            [0] => Aunque eminentes especialistas niegan que la Edad Media haya producido verdaderos tratados de arquitectura, el De Architectura Libri Decem, de Vitruvio, presentado al emperador Augusto hacia el año 25 a. C., puede considerarse como un documento medieval (fines del siglo VIII y principios del IX), ya que fue transcrito, en forma de manuscrito, en plena Edad Media. Además de este manuscrito, se conservan otros dos tratados medievales: el De Diversis Artibus Schedula, escrito por un religioso que utilizó el seudónimo de "Monje Teófilo", y el manuscrito sin título, conocido como Livre de Portraiture, de Wilars de Honecort. El primero se refiere a las artes subordinadas a la arquitectura (pintura, metales y la vidriería), y el segundo a la selección y formación de aprendices en cantería, albañilería y carpintería en la construcción de edificios góticos. En fin, estas obras pretendían formar artesanos de altísimo nivel técnico en el ramo de la arquitectura.
                                            [1] => Despite eminent specialists deny that true architecture treatises were produced in the Middle Ages, Vitruve's De Architectura Libri Decem, presented to emperor Augustus towards the year 25 B. C., can be considered a medieval document (end of the 8th century and beginning of the 99, since it was transcribed, as a manuscript, right in the Middle Ages. Besides this manuscript, two other medieval treatises are kept: De Diversis Artibus Schedula, written by a religious person under the pseudonym "Monk Teophile", and a manuscript without title, known as Livre de Portraiture, by Wilars of Honecort. The first treatise refers to the arts subordinated to architecture (such as painting, metals and glassworks), and the second one refers to the selection and formation of apprentices in stonework, masonry and carpentry in the construction of gothic buildings. To sum up, these works pretended to make artisans of the highest technical level in the branch of architecture.
