                                            [0] => Introduction: The ethical performance of the librarian is addressed, considering its challenges and perspectives. Objective: to enhance the development of the professional ethics of the librarian, through the socialization of the proposed actions. Materials and methods: theoretical methods that were used: historical - logical, modeling, analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction. The empirical analysis correspond to surveys conducted on librarians, managers and users; as well as interviews to prioritized staff and bibliotechnology personalities. Descriptive statistics were used for information processing. Results and discussion: the application of these methods enabled the theoretical foundation of the topic addressed, the characterization of the current state on the ethical performance of the librarian and the elaboration of the proposal for actions to fulfill the objective of the research. Conclusions: the implementation of the proposed actions promotes the strengthening of the professional ethics of the librarian, by influencing his preparation for the mastery of information and communications technologies, and also favors cultural improvement.
                                            [1] => Introducción: se aborda el desempeño ético del bibliotecario, considerando sus retos y perspectivas. Objetivo: potenciar el desarrollo de la ética profesional del bibliotecario, mediante la socialización de las acciones propuestas. Materiales y métodos: se utilizaron métodos teóricos: el histórico - lógico, la modelación, análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción. Los empíricos corresponden a encuestas realizadas a bibliotecarios, directivos y usuarios; así como entrevistas a personal priorizado y personalidades de la bibliotecología. Se utilizó la estadística descriptiva para el procesamiento de la información. Resultados y discusión: la aplicación de los referidos métodos posibilitó la fundamentación teórica del tema abordado, la caracterización del estado actual acerca del desempeño ético del bibliotecario y la elaboración de la propuesta de acciones para cumplimentar el objetivo de la investigación. Conclusiones: la implementación de las acciones propuestas propicia el fortalecimiento de la ética profesional del bibliotecario, al incidir en su preparación para el dominio de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones, además favorecen a la superación cultural.
