                                            [0] => Introduction: Technological advances and the growth of innovation have led companies to search for tools that allow them to be more competitive and efficient in decision-making, a process that is supported on among other, by technological surveillance and competitive intelligence, in such a way that it generates an excellent strategic direction. Objective: consists on carrying out an analysis of the employment of the technological surveillance and strategic intelligence as tool for the taking of decisions in companies of the agricultural sector of Pinar del Río. Materials and Methods: the descriptive exploratory method was used with an applied structured survey in a direct way and, to identify the process of taking of decisions it was used scales Likert with three answer options. The Alpha of Cronbach was calculated to determine the reliability of the survey and the coefficient of correlation of Pearson to establish the relationship among the used variables. Results and Discusion: was a direct relationship among the used variables, intends strategic actions guided to carry out a bigger use of the tools, to increase the innovative capacities, to achieve a bigger efficiency and with it to diminish the level of uncertainty and risks. Conclusions: The companies that apply the tools achieve advantages adapting with more easiness to the changes of the environment, they improve their strategic planning and they negotiate projects.
                                            [1] => Introducción: los avances tecnológicos y el crecimiento de la innovación, han llevado a que las empresas busquen herramientas que les permitan ser más competitivas y eficientes en la toma de decisiones, proceso que se apoya entre otras, en la vigilancia tecnológica e inteligencia competitiva, de tal forma que se genere una adecuada dirección estratégica. Objetivo: realizar un análisis del empleo de la vigilancia tecnológica e inteligencia estratégica como herramienta para la toma de decisiones en empresas del sector agroalimentario de Pinar del Río. Material y métodos: se utilizó el método exploratorio descriptivo con una encuesta estructurada aplicada de forma directa y para identificar el proceso de toma de decisiones, se emplearon escalas Likert con tres opciones de respuesta. Se calculó el Alfa de Cronbach para determinar la fiabilidad de la encuesta y el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson, para establecer la relación entre las variables utilizadas. Resultados y discusión: se encontró una relación directa entre las variables utilizadas, se proponen acciones estratégicas encaminadas a realizar un mayor uso de las herramientas, incrementar las capacidades innovadoras, lograr una mayor eficiencia y con ello disminuir el nivel de incertidumbre y riesgos. Conclusiones: las empresas que aplican las herramientas logran ventajas adaptándose con mayor facilidad a los cambios del entorno, mejoran su planificación estratégica y gestionan proyectos
